Progressive Build-up of Your Practice in a Small Group
Hello friend,
I'm Petra.
What I love most about yoga is that it meets us where we are and grows with us through life's changing seasons. Not because it removes life's challenges, but because it helps us move through them with greater steadiness, confidence and ease.
Over the years, I've learnt that our bodies and minds have an incredible capacity to learn, adapt and heal when we're given the right conditions, thoughtful guidance and time.
That belief shapes everything I teach.
Whether we're building strength, learning to rest, preparing for birth, navigating a new season of life or simply creating space to breathe, my intention is always the same: to help you develop trust in yourself and feel more at home in your body.
My story
Yoga first entered my life through movement. At first, I simply enjoyed the physical practice and kept coming back to it. Little by little, I realised yoga was offering far more than flexibility or fitness. It was changing the way I related to myself.
A few years later, I unexpectedly found myself teaching my local yoga group after our teacher moved abroad. What began as a way of keeping our Wednesday evening practice alive soon became a calling. I immersed myself in the study of yoga, anatomy and teaching, discovering immense joy in helping others explore the practice.
Then life changed.
Burnout and chronic illness brought my career as a policy adviser in the European Parliament to an unexpected end. Yoga became far more than something I taught. It became a steady companion through pain, fatigue, uncertainty and the lifelong process of coming home to myself.
Motherhood deepened that relationship once again. It reminded me that strength and softness are not opposites, that rest is a skill, and that we are not meant to navigate life's biggest transitions alone.
Sharing Yoga has grown alongside these experiences.ences.
It's the kind of space I wish I'd found years ago: one where yoga is rooted in tradition, grounded in everyday life and shared with kindness.
A place to build capacity rather than chase perfection. A place where movement, breath and community come together to support your wellbeing through life's changing seasons.
Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time, returning after a break or looking to deepen an existing practice, you're warmly welcome here.
I'd be honoured to share the practice of yoga with you.
My teachers
Yoga has always been passed from teacher to student, and I feel deep gratitude to the teachers who have shaped my understanding of the practice and continue to inspire my learning.
My path has included studies with Kaya Mindlin, Yogacharya Lalit Kumar and the team at Himalaya Yoga Valley, Jason Crandell, Katy Appleton, Jessica Maguire, Himalayan Yog Ashram and Arhanta Ashrams, alongside many years of personal practice, study and teaching.
Learning continues to be an essential part of my work, and every new insight is explored first in my own practice before it finds its way into the classes I share.
Petra
